I left you but I don’t know how.
I guess I just closed my eyes
“If you don’t take no for an answer, there’s still a chance you’ll get what you want.”
-Wong Kar-wai 2046
We all need to give part of ourselves to each other. We all need to show kindness.
Even if it’s towards a stranger.
There’s a reason why we come into each others lives.
“Some love too little, some too long,
Some sell, and others buy;
Some do the deed with many tears,
And some without a sigh:
For each man kills the thing he loves,
Yet each man does not die.”
There are no books for mortality,
but it’s something to create.
Nor different hues of burgundy
that resign me to my fate
of waxing lives of tragedy
too horrible to mate
together, standing in front of me
and I can not copulate.
In lines of ancient pageantry,
it’s too much, too soon, too late.
Come and join the party…

-Had a nice phone chat with filmmaker Ryan O’Leary about the endurance tests of making an indie movie and how to avoid needing to sell a kidney for funding.
